Coding systems supplier Honaz has launched the MapleJet ProDigit 70 printer, which incorporates Xaar 502 GS15 O print heads and is said to be suitable for food, beverage and pharmaceutical applications.
The Xaar 502 GS15 O print head uses the latest piezo-electric drop-on-demand actuator design, PrecisionPlus, which provides a long throw distance, and a nozzle guard to support automated maintenance routines for use in harsh factory environments.
Also integrated into the Xaar 502 is TF Technology that recirculates ink behind the nozzles during non-printing periods, ensuring reliability and energy efficiency.
UAE-based Honaz says that its MapleJet ProDigit 70 is targeted at companies looking to replace their carton label printers as it can print high-resolution (180dpi) codes directly onto cartons. Operating at line speeds of up to 58 metres per minute, it can print text, logos, barcodes and images directly onto porous substrates.
The printer is available in single or bi-colour versions and has a one-litre bulk ink system, which lengthen times between refills. Its retracting module ensures print quality on production lines where consistent product placement cannot always be achieved.
