Unilever has made key changes to its leadership following the creation of three global divisions – Beauty & Personal Care, Foods & Refreshment, and Home Care – last year.
Nitin Paranjpe, president of Foods & Refreshment, has been appointed to the new role of chief operating officer. According to Unilever, he will be responsible for all of the company’s go-to-market organisations.
“Today’s increasingly fragmented consumer, channel and media environment requires us to operate with more speed and agility than ever before,” said Unilever’s chief executive Alan Jope. “With his deep knowledge and experience of our markets, Nitin is ideally placed to work with me and the Unilever leadership executive to drive our performance and help deliver our growth ambitions.”
Hanneke Faber, currently president of Europe, will replace Paranjpe as president of Foods & Refreshment. Meanwhile, following the departure of Kees Kruythoff, Peter ter Kulve, chief digital officer and executive vice president of South East Asia & Australasia, has been appointed as the president of Home Care.
In addition, Sanjiv Mehta, executive vice president of South Asia, has been promoted to president for South Asia and will also join the Unilever leadership executive. All appointments will come into effect from 1 May this year.
