California set for Encore performance

Bag charge assessment flawed, says PAFA

The Scottish government's recently released 'Partial Business and Regulatory Impact Assessment' on carrier bag charges is flawed, claims the Packaging and Films Association (PAFA), because it fails to take into account the significant impact reductions achieved through voluntary means as well as the major likely effects on jobs at the 22 Scottish firms that supply carrier bags.

Little change in UK bag use

The number of plastics carrier bags used by supermarket customers in the UK rose by 1.3 per cent last year, although the weight of bags issued fell by nearly 3 per cent.
