Price movements of recycled standard thermoplastics were moderate in November. For the most part, the trend for recyclate prices was slightly down, at least for rHDPE, rPP and rPS. Prices of rLDPE and rPET flakes remained stable, and rPET was the only type to record clear gains due to brisk demand.
Contract prices for rHDPE, rPP and rPS were either under pressure from discounts on primary materials or witnessing lower demand that was partly the result of favourable virgin grade imports. In the weeks to come, this pressure is likely to increase for most recyclates, as further discounts on virgin materials are expected.
