UK food packaging manufacturer Sirane has overcome the planning and logistical challenges of manufacturing in Russia and opened a facility in Moscow.

The production facility will serve the Russian Federation, as well as many of the independent republics including Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Sirane’s absorbent pads for food packaging have been imported into Russia for 18 months, and with strong demand the decision was taken to establish local manufacturing.

Pavel Prokofiev, the Sirane East director responsible for the day-to-day running of the new operation, said: “Sirane products have experienced an increasing demand in Russia, and we are really overwhelmed by the customer response to our range and quality. We have been eagerly anticipating the opening of the Moscow production facility for a while now, as it will allow us to offer our customers an even better level of service.”

As well as absorbent pads, Sirane plans to begin manufacturing additional food packaging and industrial products as part of a second stage of expansion.
