Sacmi has appointed Alessandro Paini as general manager of its Beverage division, with his new role effective immediately.
Paini will be in charge of all areas concerning the design and manufacture of machines and complete plants for beverage packaging. A mechanical engineer, his past duties range from coordination of R&D and global product portfolio management to development and implementation of new sales strategies.
He takes over from Vezio Bernardi, who goes on to head the group’s Closures & Containers division. During Bernardi’s time, the division strengthened its role as global partner to the industry as he explored new business avenues. An example of this is the recent takeover of Defranceschi Italia, which strengthened Sacmi’s position in the wine sector.
