Custom packaging converter PPC Flexible Packaging has completed its fifth acquisition of specialty and differentiated flexible packaging firms after purchasing Popular Ink, based in Texas, USA.

Headquartered in Buffalo Grove, Illinois, flexographic printer and converter PPC has previously acquired Fisher Container and Packaging Products in 2017, Temkin International in 2018, and HFM Packaging earlier this year, as it strives to grow its markets. The firm operates six manufacturing facilities in Illinois, Kansas, Georgia, Utah, Wisconsin, and in Colombia, South America.

Founded in 2007, Popular Ink specialises in short run, specialty packaging for health, beauty and nutraceutical markets. Key products include printed laminated roll stock, gel and stick packs, stand-up pouches, labels and sleeves.

Dru Riess, chief executive of Popular Ink, said: “Since 2007, my team and I have built a market disrupting culture and company in the flexible packaging space. It is with great enthusiasm that we join the PPC family and further our geographic reach, deepen our resources, and provide more robust solutions to our customer base than ever before.”
