Tooling and automation supplier Mould & Matic is to expand its Micheldorf, Austria site next year and add nearly 100 extra staff. Part of the Kiefel Group, Mould & Matic currently employs 155 staff, including 22 apprentices, but as of December 2018, 14 more apprentices will be given training places.
A new customer centre, international sales and project management and technology centre will be added to the expansion, which will reflect the company’s desire to enhance its tool and plant engineering capabilities for the packaging industry.
The company provides services in the development and production of thermoforming and injection moulding tools, as well as automation for plastics packaging that can be used in a range of applications, including food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and medical industries.
Says Olaf Tanner, chief executive of Mould & Matic: “We are a partner for turnkey solutions and guarantee our customers a comprehensive portfolio of products and services. With its clear focus as a competence centre for the up and bottle business within the Kiefel Group, we are convinced that our customers appreciate this along with our proverbial pioneering spirit.”
In addition, Mould & Matic wants to emphasise sustainability by creating a medium where it can provide energy efficiency and flexibility. An example of this is that compressed air, cooling water and electricity are supplied through floor channels at the facilities.
