German dairy cooperative Hochwald Foods is targeting the ready to drink (RTD) market by developing new products including RTD coffee, drinking yoghurt and a range of convenient milk formats.
Hochwald sees drinking yoghurt as one of the main categories driving future growth in the dairy industry – attractive to consumers because it is healthy, filling and can be consumed “on the go”. As a result, the cooperative has developed a drinking yoghurt range in 200ml Tetra Prisma Aseptic packaging, with a straw.
According to Euromonitor, worldwide, drinking yoghurt has been amongst the top three dairy product categories with an expected annual growth rate of more than 8 per cent.
Meanwhile, China is another important market for Hochwald’s UHT milk products. The cooperative has expanded into the fortified milk sector in the country with a 200ml UHT milk product enriched with vitamin A and D meeting the rising demand for convenient and functional dairy products.
