A bottling line has been started up in Coca-Cola Amatil’s plant at Laucala Beach Estate on the Pacific island of Fiji.

The US$6.5 million blow-fill line supplied by Krones in Germany is capable of filling 21,000 bottles per hour and brings Coca-Cola Amatil Fiji into line with the latest equipment used in New Zealand, Australia and Indonesia. Bottle sizes used on the carbonated soft drinks and mineral water line will range between 500ml to 2.25-litre.

Roger Hare, managing director at Coca-Cola Amatil Fiji, said: “The line has triple the capacity of the current one and not only supports future growth for the next ten years but enables the Coca-Cola Amatil Fiji business to embark on a significant export led growth strategy, over the next five to eight years.”

Coca-Cola Amatil is one of the largest manufacturers and distributors of ready-to-drink non-alcohol and alcohol beverages, coffee and ready-to-eat food snacks in the Asia Pacific region, with 13,000 employees.
