Dairy distributor to build facility in Arizona

US dairy distributor Fair Life is to invest $200 million in the construction of a 300,000 sq ft production and distribution facility in Goodyear, Arizona.

Working with the United Dairymen of Arizona to source milk from numerous dairy farmers in Goodyear, the plant will enable the increased production of all Fair Life products, including the different varieties of Fair Life ultra-filtered milk, Core Power, Fair Life YUP!, Fair Life Smart Snacks and Fair Life Nutrition Plan.

The facility is slated to begin operations at the end of 2020 and will incorporate advanced manufacturing technologies and efficient, energy-saving equipment to reduce power consumption. It will create more than 140 jobs locally.

Fair Life currently produces a range of dairy-based beverages at its production plant in Coopersville, Michigan and distributes them to retailers in both the US and Canada. “I’m extremely proud that the demand for our milk has grown so much that we now need another manufacturing site,” said Tim Doelman, chief operating officer at Fair Life.

“In choosing a new plant location, it is essential that the new facility be built in an area where dairy farms are willing and able to follow Fair Life’s responsible animal care and sustainable farming practices while producing the highest quality milk,” Doelman explained. “Not only are there amazing dairy farmers in and around Goodyear, its location enables competitive domestic and international production.”
