Coca-Cola’s new dairy advisory council to promote animal welfare

Coca-Cola has formed an International Dairy Advisory Council following the release, in June, of a video showing shocking acts of animal cruelty at Fair Oaks Farm in Indiana, which produced milk for Coca-Cola’s Fair Life brand.

The Council will advise Coca-Cola on animal welfare issues and help the beverage giant to implement policy improvements recommended by leading animal welfare, dairy, agricultural and quality organisations.

In the wake of the controversy, Fair Life discontinued the use of milk from Fair Oaks Farms and conducted independent audits at its other supplying dairy farms. The investigation concluded in July and found no evidence of animal cruelty or abuse.
