CASE STUDY

Flexible packaging converter and laminator Jiangsu Caihua Packaging Group Company (Caihua) has acquired its first offset printing press, a Comexi CI8, after being encouraged by the Chinese government to invest in systems that deliver long-term environmental benefits.

The Comexi CI8 uses lithographic plates, replaces solvent inks for EB curing technology and prints in eight colours with a width between 900-1,100mm and a maximum speed of 300m/min.

This investment comes three years after the Chinese company’s decision to buy three other machines from Comexi, including laminators and slitters.
Caihua has been focused in recent years on improving its environmental sustainability credentials, saving energy, reducing material consumption, and decreasing carbon emissions. It comes on the back of China imposing more strict controls on volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions in 2015 and the promotion of Industry 4.0 equipment.
