ALPLA to buy out Middle East joint venture

Austrian packaging converter ALPLA (Alpenplastik Lehner Alwin) is to buy Zamil ALPLA, which was founded as a joint venture in 2008.

ALPLA expects to complete the acquisition of remaining 51 per cent of the joint venture during the first quarter of this year. The business, which produces preforms and packaging made from HDPE and PET and employs 390 staff, will continue to be run as before but will now be under the ALPLA name.

Zamil ALPLA operates from three locations in Dammam, Jeddah (both Saudi Arabia) and Dubai (UAE).

ALPLA employs 20,800 people and operates from 178 sites across 46 countries.
