Pittsburgh-based company Abarta Coca-Cola Beverages has acquired the Erie sales and distribution facility in Pennsylvania along with ten others in the US state, with the new owners now planning expansion.

Abarta currently holds a franchise to sell and distribute Coca-Cola products through most of Pennsylvania and has stated that it plans to spend $10 million a year over the next decade to update equipment, facilities, and community support throughout the state.

The company will also be increasing its work force from 550 to more than 1,500 with the purchases and will be expanding its yearly distribution from 14 to 40 million cases annually.
